We are doubly delighted with the nominations for the National Cyber Awards!

We are excited to announce that the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group is a finalist in this year’s National Cyber Awards. We’ve been named in the ‘The Cyber Awareness Award’ category sponsored by IBM.

The National Cyber Awards, now in its sixth year, is a prestigious event that recognises outstanding contributions and achievements in cybersecurity.

As digital threats continue to grow, the importance of cybersecurity cannot be overstated. Here at the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group (NCRCG), we are very proud of what we do daily across the network to raise awareness of cyber threats, particularly among the small and medium-sized business community and third-sector organisations.

An important part of our outreach is our CyberVersed podcast, so we are equally delighted to see that our podcast host, Dr Mandy Haeburn-little, has also been named a finalist in the ‘Cyber Citizen of the Year’. Those who listen to our podcast need no introduction to Mandy; her knowledge, influence and commitment to cyber resilience is unquestionable, and she is very deserving of her place as a finalist in the 2024 National Cyber Awards.

Speaking about the award nominations, NCRCG’s CEO, Ian Kirby, said: “I am delighted with NCRCG’s nomination at the National Cyber Awards; it is fitting recognition for all of the hard work being done across the network to raise awareness of cyber threats and provide guidance for SME’s and third-sector organisations so that they can become more cyber resilient.

“Our team is committed to making businesses throughout England and Wales safer, and they have done an excellent job so far by onboarding many thousands of member businesses at our nine regional centres.

“It’s also fantastic to see Mandy’s name on the list of finalists. We are delighted and privileged to have her as the host of our CyberVersed podcast. Her knowledge of cyber and influence in the cyber community play a massive part in its success; she is very deserving of her nomination.

“Being named a finalist is exciting; it is a fitting recognition and reward for all of the team. We wish all of our very deserving fellow finalists all the best and look forward to meeting them at the awards ceremony on September 23rd.”

The awards ceremony will feature categories spanning from The Cyber Citizen of the Year, The Cyber Student of the Year, and The Cyber Policing Team of the Year to The Prime Minister’s Award for Cyber. Nominees and winners will be celebrated for their significant impacts in securing cyberspace against evolving threats.

RT Hon Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, comments on the awards: “The National Cyber Awards are a wonderful way to reward, celebrate, and showcase the work of those who are committed to keeping us safe. Please pass on my warmest congratulations to the winners, who are an inspiration to everyone across the sector who wishes to protect others.”

The National Cyber Awards will be held in London on September 23rd, 2024, the Monday evening preceding the annual International Cyber Expo. Congratulations to all the other Finalists this year; we look forward to celebrating with you on September 23rd at the Awards!
