There are many reasons to be cheerful about last week’s commendation ceremony at the Guildhall in London, mainly because several people in either the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group or Cyber PATH teams were recognised with a National Police Chiefs’ Council commendation.
Members of the Cyber PATH team attended the awards and, notably, two of the outstanding Cyber PATH students were recognised. Rania Hindy received an award recognising she is an exceptional student and a shining example of Team Cyber. Rania is one of only 18 students asked to sit on the UK Cyber Security Council Youth Advisory Panel, which is a testament to her knowledge and passion for her subject. You can read more about her in our blog about her journey, published in June 2024.
Ehsan Mehrdad, who presented eloquently at the 2024 NCRCG Annual Summit, also received an award for working above and beyond expectations in supporting small and medium-sized clients to build their Cyber knowledge and resilience and helping protect the UK Economy.
Head of Cyber PATH, DCI Fiona Bail was in attendance at the Guildhall to receive a joint commendation for the Cyber PATH team along with the wider Cyber PATH team, Savva Pistolas, Thomas Rusbridger, Abduallah Khan and Danielle Healy for consistently performing above expectations, working collaboratively to achieve the aims of the department and frequently going above and beyond to support each other, the students, the CRCs and SMEs.
Finally, NCRCG CEO Ian Kirby was recognised for his leadership and professionalism as the CEO of the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group. Ian graciously commented: “I am proud but humbled as I only steer the ship. I am grateful to the wider team and network who support me in this and make it work.”
The commendations we presented on Friday 12th January, at the Guildhall in London by T/Commander, Andy Gould and Deputy Commissioner Nik Adams.
Congratulations to all of the team at NCRCG and Cyber PATH; these commendations are thoroughly deserved recognition for the hard work, commitment and dedication shown by everyone, and the fantastic progress that is being made in making SMEs more cyber resilient and in developing a strong talent pipeline for the future.
