The National Cyber Resilience Centre Group (NCRCG) is today welcoming MBDA, a world-leading defence company, on board as a National Ambassador – its first in the defence space.
MBDA is a unique multi-national European group working across the UK, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain, designing and manufacturing complex weapon systems for the army, navy and air forces of its home nations and their allies globally, thus supporting their national sovereignty. For 25 years, MBDA’s mission has been playing a central role in keeping nations safe. Over this time, this has meant developing first-class cyber expertise to ensure its digital systems and technologies are well protected from any cyber-attack.

In joining the NCRCG National Ambassador programme in the UK, MBDA finds itself part of a cadre of the UK’s largest and most well-established organisations, all of whom are working to raise awareness of cyber resilience amongst small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). For MBDA, the cyber security of the SMEs in its supply chain is paramount to its safe and continued operations – as well as national security – so it is well versed in the importance of engaging with SMEs in this area.
Chris Allam, Chief Technical Officer and UK Managing Director at MBDA, said:
“To be the first National Ambassador in the Defence sector for the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group is a reflection of the importance MBDA places on cyber security. Both internally and across our SME supply chain, we are committed to delivering best practice in cyber resilience and developing the cyber skills needed for the future. We look forward to embracing this role as a National Ambassador, and sharing our expertise with SMEs to enhance their security.”
Joanna Goddard, Chief Experience Officer at NCRCG, said:

“In recent years, we have been committed to expanding our National Ambassador programme not just for expansion’s sake but to ensure our cohort of Ambassadors represent a wide range of sectors and industries. MBDA is our first National Ambassador in the defence space which is a fantastic development for our programme and, most importantly, for the SMEs who will ultimately benefit from their involvement. MBDA’s current and future risk analysis is likewise second to none and I know, moving forward, their insights and experience will play an invaluable role in our collective work.”
